Refer to the table below when this unit does not function properly. If the problem you are experiencing is not listed below

or if the instructions below do not help, turn off this unit, disconnect the power cable, and contact the nearest authorized

Yamaha dealer or service center.

This unit fails to turn

on or enters the

standby mode soon

after the power is

turned on.

The power cable is not connected or the

plug is not completely inserted.

Connect the power cable firmly.

The protection circuitry has been

activated.

Make sure that all speaker wire connections on this

unit and on all speakers are secure and that the wire

for each connection is not touching anything other

than its respective connection.

This unit has been exposed to a strong

external electric shock (such as lightning

or strong static electricity).

Turn off this unit, disconnect the power cable, plug it

back in after 30 seconds, then use it normally.

—

No sound. Incorrect input assignment settings. Use the Input menu and correct the assignment

settings according to the actual connections.

Incorrect input or output cable

connections.

Connect the cables properly. If the problem persists,

the cables may be defective.

No appropriate input source has been

selected.

Select an appropriate input source.

Speaker connections are not secure. Secure the connections.

The volume is turned down or muted. Turn up the volume.

Signals this unit cannot reproduce are

being input from a source component,

such as a CD-ROM.

Play a source whose signals can be reproduced by this

unit.

The “HDMI Audio Out” setting is set to

“TV”.

Set the “HDMI Audio Out” setting to “Amp” to

output sounds from speakers connected to this unit.

The number of connected HDMI

components is over the limit.

Reduce the number of HDMI components connected

to the HDMI OUT jack.

—

HDCP authentication failed because the

HDMI components connected to this unit

do not support the HDCP copy protection

standards.

Connect HDMI components that support the HDCP

copy protection standards.

—

No picture. Non-standard video signals are being

input.

Non-standard video signals may interfere the GUI

screen of this unit. In this case, switch the format of

the input signal or stop the signal.

—

The number of connected HDMI

components is over the limit.

Reduce the number of HDMI components connected

to the HDMI OUT jack.

HDCP authentication failed because the

HDMI components connected to this unit

do not support the HDCP copy protection

standards.

Connect HDMI components that support the HDCP

copy protection standards.

The sound suddenly

goes off.

The protection circuitry has been activated

because of a short circuit, etc.

Check that the speaker wires are not touching each

other, then turn this unit back on.

Sound is heard from

the speaker on one

side only.

Incorrect cable connections. Connect the cables properly. If the problem persists,

the cables may be defective.

The speaker level settings are incorrect. Adjust the speaker level settings using the “Auto

Speaker Setup” menu.
